FSD Duffy and I consider the health and welfare of Team LGA to be our top responsibility. Many of your teammates are hard at work behind the scenes to ensure adequate PPE supplies are maintained and distributed effectively across all workspaces so you have what you need to protect yourselves. It is a huge team effort and each deserves our appreciation. The collaboration has been so effective that we recently acquired 1,000 face shields and distributed them to each officer at all four airports and now have other airports calling to copy us.
In conversations over the past few weeks I have learned that perhaps your biggest concern is commuting to/from work using public transportation. We have up channeled this concern to TSA HQ and the local MTA. To ensure this concern is acted on, I want you to email me directly at (matthew.mckeon@tsa.dhs.gov) if you witness a threatening situation while commuting to/from work using public transportation. Simply provide train/bus number, time, direction, location, and a very brief description of the disturbance and we will send it to the MTA for action.
