100 – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport TSO Dian Phipps Passes Away

Yesterday, I learned that we lost another valued colleague to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Dian Phipps, an Officer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), is remembered by his coworkers as kind, gentle and humble.

In 2006, Dian started with TSA at Cyril E. King International Airport in the Virgin Islands. Before joining ATL, he served at Alaska’s Juneau International Airport for about a year and a half. He was very active in his church, a talented singer and admired for his positive nature.

Dian will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, and his contributions to our mission will not be forgotten.

His passing is an emotional loss for our TSA family and we will each be uniquely affected. As a reminder, the Employee Assistance Program is available as a free resource for employees dealing with loss and other difficult life challenges. The services are confidential and include stress management, change management and other problem-solving support. Up to six free counseling sessions are available for TSA employees and their family members.

You can also get direct support by calling toll-free (800) 222-0364 (TTY 1-888-262-7848) or online at FOH4you.com. More information is available on Human Capital’s TSA Workforce Programs website.

As we remember Dian, our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and coworkers during this difficult time.
