Weather and Safety Day Addition In Response to COVID-19

Good Afternoon TSMs, STSOs, and ALLCON,

Please be advised The Scheduling Department will be adding another Weather & Safety (W&S) to all groups in response to the COVID-19 situation. Employees will work 3 and be off 4 total. The W&S will be before and after the current RDOs within the same pay week. This is effective, 4/19/20. Due to the short notice we will be making  entries and adjustments this week.  Please brief your staff and clarify this is not a schedule accommodation.  It is a direct response to maintain the safety and security of our personnel.  Upon review of the staffing compared to current flights and passenger loads we should have ample coverage within our screening areas.  Please note this doesn’t account for unanticipated exceptions.  Thank you and Happy Easter.


The RDO breakdown for officers with the 5-on/2-off schedule goes as follows:

Sat/Sun  (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon)
Sun/Mon (Sat-Sun-Mon-Tue)
Mon/Tue (Sun-Mon-Tue-Wed)
Tue/Wed (Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu)
Wed/Thu (Tue-Wed-Thu-Fri)
Thu/Fri (Wed-Thu-Fri-Sat)
Fri-Sat (Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun)

For STSO’s with the AWS please follow the below guidance:

·      An additional W&S will be added ONLY on your week with your 2 RDOs including the preceding W&S recently given. Your week should even out with 4 Days off every week.

For EXAMPLE if your 1st or 2nd week is Sun/Mon, you will have Sun/Mon/Tue/Sat and work Wed/Thu/Fri only. Mon/Tue/Wed= Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed continuously every week and work Thu/Fri/ Sat and so on.


The new W&S will be added after your 2 day RDO week to align with the preceding W&S included previously.
