Surgical Masks - 3/18/20

DATE:         March 18, 2020

TO:             All Personnel at LGA, HPN, ISP, SWF

FROM:      Robert A. Duffy, Federal Security Director, LGA, HPN, ISP, SWF

SUBJECT: Surgical Masks

This memo is to advise you that we have made progress in obtaining surgical masks for our officers who want to wear a mask.  We requested through the CIMG to receive a shipment of surgical masks from the TSA strategic reserve.  Our request was approved a short time ago and we will receive 15,000 masks on Friday, March 20.

Thank you to our Administrative Officer Alex Stungurys for gaining the approval for the shipment of masks.  Additionally, we have another order in for a portion of the 4 million masks ordered by TSA-HQ.  Additionally, we have a pipeline set up for other supplies such as cleaning materials and gloves.  Expect to see an improvement in delivery of those products as well.  Thank you to TSMs Sergio Blanco and Rich Mui along with Ed Campana for taking care of our supply lines.

As we move ahead, please continue to let us know what you need and what we can do for you.  All of our Managers, DAFSDs and Acting AFSD-S Ron Arroyo, along with our Mission Support staff are here to serve you.  As with the above examples, we will take care of your needs so you can focus on the mission with minimal distraction.

Thank you for your dedication, teamwork and professionalism during this challenging time.  I enjoyed working with the first and second shifts at Terminal D today.  The positive spirit was motivating to see, and the passengers coming through screening were very appreciative of our officers for being there to take care of them and keep them safe.

I am proud of all of you, and keep up the great work.

Thank you,

Bob Duffy
