All Bulova Staff,
A winter storm watch is forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday March 13, 2018. Snow fall expectations in the city are 2-4 inches, 6-12 inches on Long Island, winds gusting to 40 mph and temperatures in the mid-30s.
The decision to allow telework will be made this evening. A notification will be sent to the supervisors so they can inform their direct reports. There will be a 2 hour delayed start for Tuesday March 13, 2018 if telework is not approved.
Staff with Telework Agreements are advised to take their laptops home to possibly telework for tomorrow. The TSA Office building (BCC) will be open for those employees that choose to come in. There is a lenient leave policy for those that would rather use their accrued annual leave or comp time in lieu of telework or reporting to the office. Supervisors must ensure to have an accurate contact list for their personnel before they depart today.
When delayed arrival, with unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework options, is announced, employees exercising the unscheduled telework option must be telework ready. Employees teleworking (scheduled or unscheduled) are to begin work on time and be prepared with sufficient work and any necessary equipment and technology to perform work at their alternative worksite. If an employee is not telework ready, the supervisor may deny a request for unscheduled telework. Employees exercising the unscheduled leave option are charged leave for the entire workday.
