Mourning Bands are available in the Screening Support Center (SSC) located
in Hanger 3 Room 230.
Employees may come to the SSC Monday thru Sunday from 8:00am-5:30pm to pick up their Mourning Band.
STSOs may also request Mourning Bands to distribute to their direct reports
by calling the SSC at 718-505-6696 or by emailing us a list of names.
“A Mourning Band is a black band that may be worn in memory of deceased
employees and for other National mourning declarations. A Mourning Band is worn
horizontally centered on the TSA metal badge at the most narrow point.”
