TO:            All Personnel: LGA, HPN, ISP, SWF

FROM:      Robert A. Duffy, Federal Security Director: LGA, HPN, ISP, SWF

SUBJECT: Weekly Update

As I write this memo we are two days from Christmas, so I want to pass on some positive news to you.

At LGA, Bryan Fleming has been promoted to AFSD-Inspections and Executive Assistant Daniel Petch-Eam has been promoted to G-Band Program Analyst for Budget.  We will appoint Robert Gjonaj to the position of Acting AFSD-Screening and Sandra Bissoon to the position of Acting DAFSD-Screening (Terminals C and D) effective January 1, 2022.  We wish Bryan, Dan, Robert and Sandra all the best in their new positions and I am confident that they will be successful in leading those in their charge and effectively carrying out the TSA mission.

I enjoyed spending time this week at HPN and SWF where we conducted town hall meetings, provided information and answered many questions.

For those who are interested in career progression, there are openings for an MSTI at HPN, an STSO at SWF, and a Coordination Center Officer in the Coordination Center.  In the near future there will be an opening for AFSD-Mission Support, AFSD-Screening, Supervisory TSI and Executive Assistant-FSD Staff.  Please give these positions consideration and good luck.

This month we held our annual toy drive in support of the USMC Toys for Tots campaign.  This worthy cause collects toys for children at Christmas, which are then collected and distributed to children across New York City by the US Marines.  Thank you to all of you who contributed and a special thank you to STSO Ed Campana at the TSA warehouse who took the lead as our program coordinator at LGA.  Ed also had the privilege to deliver the toys from LGA to the Marines at their collection center at Floyd Bennet Field.  Thank you again for your generosity and for brightening the Christmas of many children across the city this Christmas.

I want to remind everyone again of the E3 program, Readiness Award program and the Model Officer Program.  These programs were created by our TSA Administrator, David Pekoske, to recognize our many excellent officers with monetary awards that far exceed the traditional TOPS bonus awards.  The E3 program can provide all eligible candidates with a one-time 5% increase in salary which is substantially more than the traditional TOPS bonus.  Please see your supervisor or manager for details.  I distributed a power point presentation about the E3 program a few weeks ago that gives a clear and easily understood explanation of the benefits and steps to take in applying for the E3 program.  See your manager if you didn’t receive a copy of the power point presentation in your e-mail.

Lastly, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.  Thank you to all who will be working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Your sacrifice to work on these holidays, away from your families, so that the traveling public is safe while traveling to spend Christmas with their families is admirable, inspiring and is greatly appreciated.  Please take time over the holidays to enjoy time with your family and friends and enjoy this season.

Thank you all for your service to our Nation.

Regards,

Bob Duffy
