Subject: 100 – Attention 1A and 1B Employees: Input Information into ServiceNow by March 1
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, all eligible 1A and 1B employees received an email from Dhscovid-19vaccines@hq.dhs.gov entitled “ACTION NEEDED: Update your COVID-19 Vaccination Status (or opt-in/opt-out)”. The email asks employees to provide critical vaccination status information using the DHS ServiceNow portal. If you received this email, it is important that you go into the portal and provide your information by March 1.
Even if you previously provided vaccination selection or status information in the DHS ServiceNow portal, you are being asked to update your vaccination status. It is crucial for employees to update their vaccination status through the DHS ServiceNow portal by March 1 in order to retain their status as a DHS Phase 1A or 1B employee. Vaccine supply is unpredictable, so future opt-in selections may not be accommodated.
In order to answer the questions, employees must log in to DHS ServiceNow using their Single Sign-On or PIV card via a smart device for identity verification purposes. Your response, whether choosing to opt-in or opt-out, is critical for DHS to determine allocation of vaccines for the workforce.
There is no obligation to participate in the voluntary vaccination program.
But we strongly encourage you to record your decision to opt-out in the system. Your response matters and will help ensure that there are available vaccine quantities for employees who wish to opt-in.
Opting-in to receive the vaccine is completely voluntary.
