I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanza over this holiday season. I genuinely appreciate all of your hard work, dedication and professionalism during this extremely busy time, and throughout the year.
2016 has been an amazing year in the aviation world with record breaking passenger volume for commercial air travel. We heard all of the negative media coverage and expectations for a long difficult summer travel season for those who chose to fly last winter and spring. Instead, the TSA, with a big assist from the airlines, far surpassed everyone’s expectations, and made the 2016 summer season memorable for the tremendous success it turned out to be. This positive momentum has carried on to the current holiday season. None of this would have happened if not for the outstanding effort given by all of you throughout the year. We succeeded because of your collective effort to accept the challenge we faced, overcome the obstacles, and make this a winning year. The effort you all put forth this year was truly inspiring.
